A Slow Road to Easter Series – Crucifixion

Welcome to the 4th part of our series, A Slow Road to Easter. A series in which we take time to explore and look afresh at the Easter story.

As we begin the start of Holy Week our Assistant Pastor Nick Thomas gives a talk on the Crucifixion.

Nick shares how the crucifixion was not a surprise to God, that this was planned by God from the beginning and we can read about this in the Old Testament.

Nick unpacks why Jesus says  “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” These words initially seem very disturbing, but why does Jesus say them and how do they link with a Psalm that King David wrote a thousand years beforehand?

What can we learn about God from the crucifixion and what does this mean for us today?

As a special bonus you’ll also hear the similarities between Jesus and Where’s Wally!
